California Crazy: Newsom Bans Gas Lawnmowers During A Woke Wild Bill Signing Ceremony

California has decided to ban the sale of new gas powered lawn mowers, chainsaws, weed whackers, pressure washers, and even golf carts.

“The goal of the bill is to cut emissions, “This is a pretty modest approach to trying to limit the massive amounts of pollution that this equipment emits, not to mention the health impact on the workers who are using it constantly,” bill author Democratic Assemblyman Marc Berman said.

The bill also includes a ban on gas powered generators so good luck to Californians if the lights go out during power brownouts because of the strain on the electrical grid.

There is no word if there is an exemption for firefighters battling forest fires or if they too will be forced to charge their battery powered chainsaws before they can cut a fire line.

Officials hailed the bill, claiming that a leaf blower operating for an hour puts out the same amount of emissions as a drive from LA to Denver.

First, that leaf blower needs a tune up. Second, besides contractors taking care of the elites lawn – who can afford a lawn care service – who runs a leaf blower for an hour straight?

The bill is going to cripple the entrepreneur and current landscaping services. The cost of a battery operated commercial riding lawnmowers start at around $5,000 and can handle about 3.5 flat acres of lawn. That is fine if you are a home owner but if you are a lawn care service that is going to be a problem. Landscapers would need multiple machines to cut lawns rather than one machine with a gas tank.

Oh, and let’s not forget the brownouts California has experience because they haven’t adequately secured their power grid and as Gov. Newsom said, “relied” to heavy on other types of energy.

Newsom also signed into law mandating that retailers with over 500 employees must have a gender neutral toy aisle for kids.
