Award-winningย actress, Reese Witherspoon, reveals her horrific encounter with a sexuallyย deviant director.

Reese is just the latest actress to come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct in Hollywood. In her statement, Reese explains that she was only 16-years-old when the sexual assault took place and was made to feel that her silence was part of her contract back then.

“I feel trueย disgust at the direct who assaulted me when I was 16-years old, Reese said. ” and anger at the agents and producers who made me feel that silence was a condition of my employment,” she added.

Witherspoon explained how alienated and alone the attacks made her feel but, alluding to multiple instances throughout her career, citing the brave women who’veย come forward. Referringย to the Weinstein allegations.

โ€œThis has been a really hard week for women in Hollywood, for women all over the world, and a lot of situations and a lot of industries are forced to remember and relive a lot of ugly truths,โ€ Witherspoon said. โ€œI have my own experiences that have come back to me very vividly and I find it really hard to sleep, hard to think, hard to communicate a lot of the feelings that Iโ€™ve been having about anxiety, honest, the guilt for not speaking up earlier.”

Witherspoon did not name who assaulted or harassed her. At the same event,ย Jennifer Lawrence revealed in a speechย that she was forced to participate in a โ€œdegrading and humiliatingโ€ lineup while naked and told to lose weight when she started her acting career.

Witherspoon joins a growing list of actresses who have shared their personal experiences with sexual misconduct in Hollywood. The revelations followed the bombshell reports by The New York Times and The New Yorker, which detailed Weinsteinโ€™s alleged sexual misconduct.
