Black Lady Cries Racism Over Walmart’s Anti-Theft Measures.
Essie Grundy was looking to buy a lotion and to her surprise, she found that the Walmart in Riverside, California was keeping lotion and similar products under lock and key. Grundy claims that white people hair products that were on the other side of the aisle were not put under the same security therefore racism.
“I originally got the product from the Walmart in Riverside…and it was such a good product, I wanted to introduce it to my older children,” said Grundy. “They didn’t have any more at the original Walmart that I got it from, so I went to my neighborhood one, and that’s when I noticed all of the African-American products was locked up under lock and key.”
Listen to her claim below.
She claims that it is racial discrimination for African American hair products to be under lock and key.
I guess Walmart did not respond fast enough or to her liking so she has decided to take it to the next level. Grundy is suing Walmart.
She has lawyered up and hired Gloria Allred. Grundy wants an apology and to put a stop to Walmarts current anti-theft practices.
Walmart responded to the use of anti-theft measures.
“We’re sensitive to this situation and also understand, like other retailers, that some products such as electronics, automotive, cosmetics and other personal care products are subject to additional security,” he said.
“Those determinations are made on a store-by-store basis using data supporting
the need for heightened measures.
“While we’ve yet to review a complaint, we take this situation seriously and look forward to addressing it with the court.”

People steal things and if lotion and combs are being stolen at a regular rate then they need to be locked up. This whole discrimination thing is just a ridiculous use of the race card. Yes, it’s unfortunate that stores need to lock the items up. But would it be better if they stopped carrying things that are needed?
