The Gateway Pundit reported that President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed trick-or-treaters during the White House’s annual Halloween event on Thursday evening.

What the White House announcement—quoted by TGP—promised

The article quotes a White House announcement stating, “First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald J. Trump will open the South Lawn of the White House to trick or treaters of all ages.” It adds that “thousands of children and their parents will proceed around the South Lawn to visit various trick-or-treat booths and enjoy spooky decorations featuring the harvest Moon on the South Portico of the White House.”

According to the same announcement, the event “will take place from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM and is open to ticketholders, including military families, law enforcement families, foster and adoptive families, and Administration officials with children.”

The White House message quoted in the article also says “The President and First Lady will hand out commemorative candies on the South Drive for a portion of the event,” and that the “United States (U.S.) Air Force Strolling Strings will play traditional Halloween songs and modern tunes while the President and First Lady welcome children and families.” It further notes that the Department of Agriculture is handing out “mini pumpkins from American farmers.”

Details TGP described from the scene

The Gateway Pundit wrote that children arrived in costume and that Melania Trump wore a monochromatic brown outfit. The outlet also said that “Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and his family” and Trump adviser Stephen Miller with his family attended.
