A Texas Student Is Suing Her School For A Ridiculous Reason

A Texas Students Felt Persecuted As She Reaped What She Sowed.

Earlier this Month Two Houston students that attend Klien Oak High School took it upon themselves to disrespect The American Flag. One of them took it a step further and decided to sue her High School because she wanted the ability to disrespect the flag and country that she lives in, without feeling persecuted. She felt she was unjustly harassed as she was ridiculed by their peers for deciding to sit during the Pledge of Allegiance. The student claimed her constitutional rights were violated by the school.

One of the students with initials M.O. said that she was harassed by bullies and School Administration despite the Mother’s attempts to resolve the issue. MO had been disrespecting the flag since 2014 but felt the bullying got out of hand in 2017 when a teacher told her people who don’t stand for the pledge:

“all they do is take from society.” The teacher allegedly compared anyone who refuses to say the Pledge to Soviet communists, members of the Islamic faith seeking to impose Sharia law, and those who condone pedophilia.”

The American Atheists a civil liberties group has picked up the case. The American Atheists famous for Murray v. Curlett a case where they helped to remove God from schools. Hence why morals for most schools also took their leave. The Civil rights group filed their Federal Lawsuit on the 24th of October claiming the school violated the M.O.’s 1st amendment rights. They also feel the school is liable for the costs that were incurred from the Homeschooling that M.O. underwent to dodge the bullies.

“The first reason I sit is because, obviously, it is my Constitutional right, but I also believe that we live in a country where there isn’t justice and freedom for all, and so I’m not going to stand for a pledge that says there is when there really isn’t,” the teenager said during a press conference, according to KPRC Houston.

It’s sad that the student feels so inclined to sit, she should be thankful that the brave men and woman that protect our country don’t do the same. But as it is a free country it is only a common courtesy to respect the flag. A courtesy that should be ingrained in all Americans as we are all lucky to live in this great country.

As Reported By Fox News.

The student’s mother, Kizzy, who told local media that she recorded a phone conversation with the principal, alleges the principal said, “She can’t come to my school if she won’t stand for the Pledge.”

“I don’t think that the flag is what it says it’s for, for liberty and justice and all that. It’s not obvious what’s going on in America today,” Landry said.

The Cypress-Fairbanks district released a statement to Fox News stating it had not been served any papers in the matter and “will not be able to comment on any potential litigation,” adding the student is still enrolled and attending classes.
