With A Professor like this its no wonder, America has educational issues.

Fresno State College Professor Tarnishes Students Pro-Life Project In The Name Of UnFree Speech Zones.

Californian College Professor Thatcher made it clear where he stood on the rights of unborn children when he had his students take time to erase the chalk drawings that students had made for their awareness project. Thatcher claimed that the students were not allowed to freely express themselves throughout campus. He said that only some areas were free speech zones and the students had apparently gone outside those zones.

The students had gone through all the appropriate channels to ensure they were allowed to do the Pro-Life chalk drawings but Thatcher did not care. He defaced one of their drawings while on camera saying “You Have permission to put it down. I have permission to get rid of it. This is our Part of free Speech do you disagree with our part of free speech.”

The Professor claimed that he was not against their message and if the drawings had been done in an approved Speech Area he wouldn’t have bothered with them. But it’s odd that he took it upon himself to direct his class to follow his lead and mess up the Pro-Life chalk drawings without even questioning why they were there. The defacing of the chalk drawings seemed to me like a pretty obvious disapproval of their Pro-Life message.

I think the saddest part of the whole thing was his statement: “College Campuses are not free speech areas. Do you Understand? Obviously, you don’t understand.” I can only imagine the scary classroom he heads, where ideas are not exchanged and things are not expanded on just rote memorization, my guess Pro-Abortion and Anti-free Speech lessons.

Watch The Whole Incident Below.

The Students for Life chapter group were vindicated by the school and Thatcher was more than simply scolded. The students sued claiming that their 1st and 14th amendment rights were violated. The Students were victorious and Thatcher was ordered to pay 17,000 dollars. Thatcher was also ordered to undergo two hours of first amendment training put on by the Center For Academic Freedom Attorneys.

After all, was said and done Thatcher claimed that he wouldn’t pay a penny since it is all paid out through insurance and had this to say in regards to the training:

“I did not, in any way, admit to any wrongdoing,” Thatcher said. “I did agree to sit through a training seminar because I love to learn others’ thoughts and opinions.”

For a man that loves to learn others thoughts and opinions, he sure doesn’t know how to show it.
