Judge May Have Just Flipped On Biden Over Trump Raid

Have you ever done something and immediately after you think, “man, I shouldn’t have done that.” Well, it appears that the Federal Judge overseeing who gave the DOJ permission to execute a warrant against Trump at Mara-a-Largo is singing a different tune.

It’s no secret that Judge Bruce Reinhart is a partisan Democrat however, after the fallout surrounding the Trump raid, he appears to have flipped on the Biden administration.

“The Government argues that even requiring it to redact portions of the Affidavit that could not reveal agent identities or investigative sources and methods imposes an undue burden on its resources and sets a precedent that could be disruptive and burdensome in future cases,” Reinhart wrote in a filing on August 22, 2022, rejecting the DOJ’s request to keep the affidavit sealed. “I do not need to reach the question of whether, in some other case, these concerns could justify denying public access; they very well might.”

“Particularly given the intense public and historical interest in an unprecedented search of a former President’s residence, the Government has not yet shown that these administrative concerns are sufficient to justify sealing,” he added.

So just a few weeks ago, Reinhart was like, “sure, go ahead and raid a former president.” But now that the crap has hit the fan, he calls the search “unprecedented.”

The big question is will Reinhart release the entire affidavit, or will he redact part of it.

Prosecutors for the DOJ are working hard to keep their “sources” inside Mara-a-Largo.

“This is not a precedent we want to set,” Government prosecutor Jay Bratt said. “The government is very concerned about the safety of witnesses in this case.”

All of this wreaks of the Russiagate debacle. If Judge Reinhart unseals the affidavit, the government can appeal the decision, which will drag out the proceeding and is the anticipated next move for the DOJ.
