Donut Shop Tormented For Helping The Needy?!

The Holy Donut Shop Attacked For Trying To Help A Family In Need?!

In Portland, Maine there is a donut shop called The Holy Donut. This Christmas they decided to reach out and help a family in need. So the called the Salvation Army to get a hold of a family that needed help. To raise the funds to adequately help the family they did a fundraiser that they posted on Facebook.

Now here is the ridiculous part, somehow in this effort to help clothe the less fortunate, they offended a whole community. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished and that is exactly what the LGBTQ community did. They attacked this post and the good name of the charitable donut shop, claiming that The Salvation Army discriminates against the LGBTQ and therefore diminishes the good deed somehow. The post blew up with all sorts of comments that basically said the same thing: how could you use an Anti-LGBTQ charity? As well as threats to take their business elsewhere because of the Donut shop’s choice to use the Salvation Army. There were even talks of boycotting the Donut shop. Many LGBTQ supporter/member even poorly rated The Holy Donut in response to the Charitable event.

One LGBTQ protester posted:

“In case you forgot, a solid 70 percent of your clientele is part of the LGBTQ community,” one rabble-rouser wrote. “You’re making a silent statement that you’re completely fine with their choices.”

There was also a slew of supportive comments but The Holy Donut Shop had to take the post down because of all the negative comments and in an attempt to prevent further trouble with the sensitive community. The Holy Donut even went so far as to apologize for offending the LGBTQ community and posted the apology on Facebook.

It is ridiculous that this was necessary at all. The Salvation Army has no issues with the LGBTQ community and even states as much on their site. Their mission statement sums it up “The Salvation Army, an international movement is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.”

The LGBTQ went off the rails on this one attacking a small business for helping the community. They say they are a social movement about ‘acceptance’ but this just goes to show you how selfish and misguided they are.
