Dems Go Into Full Freak Out Mode After Trump Turns Blue State Governors Race Upside Down

Over Labor Day weekend, Democrats in New York started to freak out after President Trump got involved in the New York race for Governor.

Currently, Republican state representative Lee Zeldin is trying to unseat unelected Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul, and thanks to a push from Trump, the race has narrowed to four points.

From Fox News:

Former President Donald Trump reportedly helped New York’s Republican candidate for governor, Rep. Lee Zeldin, raise an additional $1.5 million for his campaign to oust incumbent Democrat Kathy Hochul.

At a reception hosted Sunday at the Chera real estate family’s home in New Jersey, Trump advocated for Zeldin, who has been inching closer to former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s predecessor in the polls in recent days with the general election still nine weeks away in November.

The New York Post reported that the event earned Zeldin a $1.5 million boost in campaign cash.

Hochul can also blame herself after telling Republicans to get out of the state.

Zeldin just got a big shove, and it appears that Republicans have learned their lesson after screwing up in New Jersey during the race for governor in 2021. The GOP did not assist the Republican candidate, who narrowly lost the race. Had the GOP gotten involved in the race, there was a good chance the Garden State would have a Republican governor.

Zeldin has a mountain to climb however he is within striking distance in the polls, which makes Democrats very nervous.

In 2021 they said Youngkin didn’t have a chance, and he overwhelmingly won the election. If it can be done in Virginia, it can be done in New York.

Another thing to keep an eye on, so far, Hochul has not agreed to debate Zeldin.
