Bridget Johnson, a highly respected Conservative, was banned from Twitter, and no one knows why. The reason this is a concern isn’t just because Twitter banned Bridgett without giving her a reason but it looks like her views played a roll in their decision. There wasn’t any recorded misuse on Bridgett’s twitter feed, that we know of. No nudity, hate speech, or adult content. So that only leaves Bridgets outspoke political stance.
It’s no secret Twitter sides with liberal views but are they really going to wage a war on Republicans? In the past, Twitter has been accused, by Conservative news sites, of unfairly throttling content. Truthfully Twitter, Facebook, and Google have all seemingly sided left giving more attention to liberal activists and sites while pushing Conservative content to the back. This was an eye-opening read.
According to Twitter’s Help Center, there are two types of suspension – a temporary timeout that results in reinstatement in a matter of hours, and a second, much more serious “permanent” suspension. Bridget’s appears to be the latter. The company did not flag a particular tweet that was problematic and her request for an appeal has gone unanswered.
While many Twitter users engage in abusive behavior on the platform, Bridget does not. Nor does she brawl with other users or engage in flame wars.
