President Trump Tweets, Calling Democrat’s Fisa Memo Rebuttal A total ‘BUST’ and Here is why.
President Donald Trump sparks a bit of a Twitter war Saturday for calling the FISA memo rebuttal a failure. While liberals scramble to defend their lacking memo it is easy to see why Trump is calling the whole thing a ‘political and legal bust’.
In the Republican memo, a key element on the table is the fact that the Dossier was funded by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) but the Democrats version avoids the issue altogether. In fact, they mention ‘shielding the identities’ of those sources because it is a common practice for them but do admit it was politically motivated. The main baseline of the Democrat’s document seems full of excuses but doesn’t bring any new evidence to light.
The rebuttal, written by Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee, concluded that officials at the FBI and Justice Department “did not abuse the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) process, omit material information, or subvert this vital tool to spy on the Trump campaign.”
Democrats sought to counter claims made in a Republican memo released this month that the FBI and DOJ relied on a Democrat-funded anti-Trump dossier to ask the FISA court for a warrant to monitor Trump adviser Carter Page.
Democrats have vehemently claimed that the Republican memo left out important information.
Ranking Democrat Adam Schiff, D-Calif., countered by saying it confirmed that intelligence officials acted appropriately.

Republicans had found that the DOJ and FBI left out Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton campaign funding of the dossier, as well as the anti-Trump motivations of author and former British spy Christopher Steele, in its request for a warrant.
