(Headline USA) The GOP-led House Oversight Committee issued its first subpoenas this week to Hunter Biden, James Biden and a Biden family business associate, Rob Walker.

The committeeโ€™s subpoenas requested that Hunter, James and Walker appear before the panel for testimony as part of its investigation into the Biden familyโ€™s alleged influence-peddling.

The subpoenas also requested transcribed interviews from James Bidenโ€™s wife, Sara Biden; President Joe Bidenโ€™s daughter-in-law Hallie Biden; and Hunter Bidenโ€™s current wife, Melissa Cohen.

The requests come after a bombshell report from the committee revealing bank documents that showed James and Sara Biden wrote Joe Biden a $40,000 check shortly after a Chinese energy company paid Hunter $400,000โ€”effectively making good on a promise to remit 10% to the โ€œbig guy.โ€

Other financial records accumulated by the committee showed members of the Biden familyโ€”including Hunter, James, Hallie and Sara Bidenโ€”had received more than $1 million in payments from accounts related to Walker.

โ€œThe House Oversight Committee has followed the money and built a record of evidence revealing how Joe Biden knew, was involved, and benefited from his familyโ€™s influence peddling schemes,โ€ House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said in a statement.

โ€œNow, the House Oversight Committee is going to bring in members of the Biden family and their associates to question them on this record of evidence,โ€ he added.

Comer went on to blast Joe Biden for dismissing the investigation into his familyโ€™s business deals.

โ€œUnlike the many lies President Biden told the American people about his familyโ€™s business schemes, bank records donโ€™t lie,โ€ Comer said. โ€œThese records reveal how the Bidens sold Joe Biden around to the world to benefit the Biden family, including Joe Biden himself, to the detriment of U.S. interests.โ€

When asked about the subpoenas on Wednesday, the White House once again claimed House Republicansโ€™ investigation has โ€œturned up zero evidence of wrongdoingโ€ by the president.

โ€œRepublicans continue to double down on a baseless, baseless smear campaign against the president and his family instead of being focused on the American peopleโ€™s needs,โ€ claimed White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
