Liberal Group tied to the Obamas and the Clintons Moves To Restrict Military Voting For Americans Overseas?

Now, this is rich, the Center for American Progress submitted a report calling for the votingย restriction of American’s serving in our military overseas. The group is citing the prevention of ‘Russian election tampering’ as the primary focus for their outlandish request. Could this be another part of the liberal ‘long game’? More often than not, military members do not voteย Democratic in Presidential elections, would this still be an issue if that weren’t true?

As Reported Byย Valerie Richardsonย with The Washington Post:

After years of accusing states of voter suppression, theย Center for American Progress, citing election security, wants to make voting tougher for Americans serving overseas in the military.

The left-wing public policy groupย issuedย a report Monday, โ€œElection Security in All 50 States,โ€ that called for stricter standards to prevent cybermeddling in elections by foreign governments, including banning military stationed abroad from submitting ballots via email or fax.

One state that allows such vote casting is Colorado. Theย centerย called on the state to โ€œprohibit voters stationed or living overseas from returning voted ballots electronically.โ€

โ€œRegardless of the stateโ€™s secure ballot return system for electronically voted ballots, we recommend that all voted ballots be returned by mail or delivered in person,โ€ said the 245-page report.

Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williamsย defendedย the practice, saying the state has incorporated safeguards to protect the integrity of ballots cast by military personnel living overseas.

โ€œThey donโ€™t believe someone who works on a submarine should be allowed to vote. We do,โ€ the Republican said in a statement.

Conservatives were quick to blast the reportโ€™s recommendation as unworkable and politically motivated.

โ€œPerhaps they think that Navy SEALs can swim ballots ashore, hand them off to Army paratroopers who can parachute into Colorado to drop off the ballots?โ€ asked the conservative website Colorado Peak Politics.
