FINALLY! The NFL has finally lost their first (and I’m sure not last) sponsor over the “kneeling protests” which take place during the National anthem.
Allen Jones, a Tennessee businessman, who runs ads forย Check Into Cash and Hardwick Clothes, called the NFL “unpatriotic” for these actions and has told his media team to remove all commercialsย from airing during NFL games.
โOur companies will not condone unpatriotic behavior!โย Jones said in a statement.ย โFor the 29 states we operate in, this isnโt much to them, but itโs a lot to us. The Tombras Group is our ad agency in Knoxville and our national media buyer for both TV and radio (for Check Into Cash) and donโt look for Hardwick on the NFL either.โ
There have been other consequences, as well for this. Some players haveย reportedlyย lost outย on endorsement deals, NFLย ratings are down, DirecTV is now handing out unprecedented refunds for their NFL package, and aย majorityย of the American people believe playersย shouldย stand for the anthem (64%).”
It’s pathetic really. And I’m digging the angle a lot of outlets are using, such as The Daily Wire, where there’s an emphasis on just how rich these “oppressed” players are.
As reported by Amanda Prestigiacomo for The Daily Wire:
On Sunday, nearly 200 millionaire football players took a knee during the anthem in “solidarity” with other anthem kneelers, such as cops-as-pigs sock-wearing former 49er Colin Kaepernick. Three other teams did not take the field for the anthem, seemingly in an effort to avoid controversy.
The move was in reaction to President Donald Trump’s Friday remarks at a Senate campaign rally in Alabama. President Trump asked the crowd if they’d “love it” if NFL owners would fire the “son of a b****” kneeling athletes. Backing-up his comments on social media, Trump suggested the American people boycott the league until the kneeling ceases.
