NFL Rejects Patriotic Ad For Superbowl [Video]

NFL Rejects Veteran Sponsored #PleaseStand for the Anthem Ad For Super Bowl Program.

The NFL has shown it’s true colors this season with its constant disrespect of the flag and all it stands for. The constant disregard that NFL’s players are displaying and the lack of management intervention is sickening. But the NFL was once again given a chance to prove whether it stood for America or not. NFL being the disrespectful organization that it is, of course, chose the disrespectful path.

Amvet tried to run an ad in the Super Bowl Program that was going to have an American flag and two words on it: # Please Stand. A very straight to the point ad that sadly is needed as no one in management will step up. So who is this great organization that is willing to spend $30,000 on a patriotic ad?

AMVETS (American Veterans) is the nation’s most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization, representing the interests of 20 million veterans. AMVETS is open to and fighting for all who honorably served in the United States military, including the Reserve and Guard. With more than 250,00 members nationwide, we are veterans serving veterans.”

The NFL, as expected, rejected the Patriotic ad with the oddest reason for rejection.

In a statement, NFL Vice President of Communications Brian McCarthy said the Super Bowl game program “is designed for fans to commemorate and celebrate the game, players, teams and the Super Bowl. It’s never been a place for advertising that could be considered by some as a political statement.”

Watch the quick sum up below.

AMVETS officials said the same #PleaseStand ad was accepted by the National Hockey League and Major League Baseball for inclusion in their all-star games’ programs. The organization sees the advertisement as an extension of their role as a “nonpartisan advocate for veterans and their families.”

So disrespectfully kneeling during the National Anthem, bashing the American flag and the military, in the name of protest is not political? Talk about Hypocritical. But I would expect no less from an organization that consistently disrespects the American Flag.
