Eric Bauza, 46, the Emmy-winning voice actor behind Looney Tunes icons including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, has died, the BBC reported. According to the BBC, a statement from his family posted on Instagram said he died “suddenly.”
Cause and circumstances reported
Variety reported the cause of death as hypertensive cardiovascular disease and said Bauza died at home on Sunday. The BBC cited Variety for those details.

Roles and recent projects
The BBC said Bauza voiced multiple characters in this summer’s animated hit Coyote vs. Acme and appeared in the recent release Forgotten Island. He voiced Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd and Foghorn Leghorn in 2021’s Space Jam: A New Legacy and reprised those roles—plus Road Runner—in Coyote vs. Acme, according to the BBC.
The BBC also reported he played Toad General in 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie and in its sequel The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which the BBC said was the year’s fifth highest-grossing film internationally.
Awards and background
Between 2022 and 2025, Bauza won three Emmys for outstanding voice performance across several TV series, the BBC reported. The BBC noted he was born in Ontario and was of Filipino descent.

What he said about Looney Tunes
In a 2021 interview with NBC News, Bauza said, “Looney Tunes transcends all languages and all cultures. It doesn’t matter what part of the planet you’re from. You get the comedy.”

Industry tribute
Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks, said Bauza “was a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions around the world,” according to a statement reported by the Hollywood Reporter. Dungey added that Bauza felt carrying on the Looney Tunes legacy was among the greatest honors of his life.
