Florida Teen Admits that his newly found Islamic faith was the reason behind the senseless murder.
What started out a harmless sleepover turned into a gruesome crime scene. The young teen, Corey Johnson had recently converted to the Islamic faith after watching several violent videos. Johnson was staying over at his friend’s house when he took out a knife stabbing his friend’s mother and two other boys. The mother died from her injuries.
Johnson had purchased the knife the day before, reportedly for the attack which was sparked by his friend making fun of his Muslim beliefs. Prior to the murders, Johnson says he read from the Koran and watched more violent videos.

Corey Johnson, 17, was charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder after police said he confessed to the assault at the 13th birthday sleepover party at a BallenIsles Country Club home, the Palm Beach Post reported.
Jupiter Police, Palm Beach County School District police and the FBI previously received “intelligence gathering” on Johnson that prompted an investigation into his “alleged violent tendencies,” the Palm Beach Post reported.
“Corey Johnson is out there with a knife. He’s a murderer. That’s all I know.”
Johnson reportedly told police he woke up at 4 a.m. Monday at Kyle Bancroft’s home and had an urge to kill Kyle’s mother, Elaine Simon; Kyle’s brother, 13-year-old Dane Bancroft; and Dane’s friend, 13-year-old Jovanni Sierra. The three victims were each asleep at the time, the Post reported.
Palm Beach Post Reported Dane had “made fun of” Johnson’s Islamic faith, the teen said, according to the police report. Jovanni Sierra, who turned 13 on Monday, referred to celebrities as “gods,” Johnson said. That upset him because it is contrary to the Islamic faith to idolize others as a god, he said.
Johnson and Kyle watched violent jihadist videos Sunday night, they said. Johnson stabbed Jovanni Sierra and slit his throat with a knife he had brought with him to the house.
Johnson said he read the Quran before going to the house. He turned to the Muslim holy book “to give him courage to carry out his intentions,” according to an arrest report.
