After watching Trudeau use his unprecedented powers to break up the Freedom Convoy Joe is looking to do the same and is quietly turning DC back into a fortress.
Multiple reports have confirmed that the Capitol Police will reinstall a fence around the Capitol building before Biden’s State of the Union Speech and in preparation for a Freedom Convoy that will visit the DC area.
“The United States Capitol Police and the United States Secret Service have been closely working together to plan for the upcoming State of the Union,” The United States Capitol Police said in a press release.
The funny thing is the Freedom Convoy is not planning on driving into DC. The group’s official itinerary shows that the convoy has no plans to enter DC proper but will disperse after traveling the beltway. The group is planning on shutting down the beltway for a period of time.
“I’ll give you an analogy of that of a giant boa constrictor,” Bob Bolus, convoy organizer said. “That basically squeezes you, chokes you and it swallows you, and that’s what we’re going to do the D.C.”
Bolus said the convoy will leave a lane open for emergency vehicles for safety but officials trying to get to work inside DC may have some issues.
“We will not compromise anybody’s safety or health, one way or the other,” Bolus said. “As far as if they can’t get to work, geez that’s too bad.”
The official press release states, “The People’s Convoy will abide by agreements with local authorities, and terminate in the vicinity of the DC area, but will NOT be going into DC proper.”
In response to the protest that the Capital Police believe the convoy will enter the city and announced they will decide what “lawful First Amendment activity” is.
“Law enforcement agencies across the National Capital Region are aware of plans for a series of truck convoys arriving in Washington, DC around the time of the State of the Union. As with any demonstration, the USCP will facilitate lawful First Amendment activity. The USCP is closely coordinating with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, including DC’s Metropolitan Police Department, the United States Park Police, the United States Secret Service and other allied agencies to include the DC National Guard.”
They are taking a page right out of the Trudeau playbook.
