Texas liberal Representative, Al Green, follows through with last year’s threat to try and impeach President Trump. As Green moves forward with his call for impeachment, the house may have no choice but to vote to move forward within the next two day.
Al Green’s grounds for impeachment are so outlandish, truly a stretch, that even Democrats who’ve called for impeachment in the past, aren’t showing signs of support. In the case of California’s liberal representative, Maxin Water’s, who declined to say how she would vote. Rep. Green sites the president as “inciting white supremacy, sexism, bigotry, hatred, xenophobia, race-baiting, and racism by demeaning, defaming, disrespecting and disparaging women and certain minorities.”
As well as alleging that Trump [brings] “shame and dishonor to the office of the presidency by associating the majesty and dignity of the presidency with causes rooted in white supremacy, bigotry, racism, anti-Semitism, white nationalism, and neo-Nazism.”
Even though the motion, if called for a vote, will force the house to decide on the matter within the next couple of days, it doesn’t stand a chance to pass in the house.

“I rise to denounce these comments that have been made because they have brought discourse to a new low,” Green said. “This is a level of indecency that is unbecoming of the presidency. … I will stand here in the well of the Congress and I will call for the impeachment of the president.”
New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee where impeachment proceedings typically begin, told The Hill in response to Green’s threat: “We’re not there yet,” despite Trump having done “really terrible things.”
He also suggested that impeachment proceedings could be more effective later, saying, ”We don’t have the evidence. We don’t have the case. … You don’t want to discredit it by voting for impeachment resolutions before you have the facts.”
