Biden’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg issued some clueless comments about the country’s supply chain crises and now they are giving Biden grief.
Buttigieg told CNN’s Jake Tapper that the supply chain crises is actually a good thing and a sign that America is getting back to normal.
Buttigieg told CNN’s Jake Tapper that, “Retail sales are through the roof. If you think about those images of ships, for example, waiting at anchor on the west coast, every one of those ships is full of record amounts of goods that Americans are buying, because demand is up, because income is up, because the president has successfully guided this economy out of the teeth of a terrifying recession. Now the issue is, even though our ports are handling more than they ever have, record amounts of goods coming through, our supply chains can’t keep up. Of course, our supply chains – that’s a complicated system that is mostly in private hands and rightly so. Our role is to be an honest broker, bring together all of the players, secure commitments, and get solutions that will make it easier.”
Pete’s clueless comments are now giving Biden even more grief his approval has dropped again. It turns out Americans don’t like it when their schools can’t get supplies or mechanics cannot get in the parts needed to fix their cars.
The Five Thirty Eight’s (DC liberal polling company) average shows Biden approval dropping to 43.4%. The president has been on a free fall since August during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Since then America’s southern border has exploded, the economy is falling apart, and Americans are furious over a possible vaccine mandate.
Pete’s comments was tone deaf and it showed the entire administration lives in the DC bubble.
“It’s clear that these requirements work. These requirements are very important not only for safety but the fundamental fact that the only way through so many of these challenges that are facing us … is to put the pandemic behind us,” says @SecretaryPete on supporting mandates. pic.twitter.com/MBml70L99S
