Even though California remains a Democrat stronghold in many ways, Republicans actually gained some traction in the state after the midterm elections.

On top of that, the fifth-largest county in California is voting to create a whole new state. And various Golden State courts have delivered surprise victories for right-wing supporters.

Now, another victory โ€” and this one involves the endlessly controversial โ€œdiversityโ€ topic.

Back in 2019, Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against a 2018 California law, which required that every public corporation reserve a seat on its board of directors for an individual who โ€œself-identifies her gender as a woman.โ€

Then the conservative watchdog group filed a second lawsuit in 2020.

This went after a law signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom that forced companies in the state to use โ€œracial, ethnicity, sexual preference and transgender status quotasโ€ for their boards of directors.

All of this they deemed unconstitutional and discriminatory, and many supporters agreed. The court agreed as well (via The Daily Caller):

The California Court of Appeals upheld two injections against state-mandated diversity quotas on corporate boards earlier this month, according to court documents.

The appellate court rejected the California Secretary of Stateโ€™s request to lift two injunctions against these laws.

California officials keep pushing for these unconstitutional rules to remain in place, but the courts continue to side with the plaintiffs. In this case, the โ€œdiversity quotaโ€ has been shut down again.

Judicial Watch celebrated the ruling on Twitter:

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a press release that the California courts โ€œhave upheld the core American value of equal protection under the law.โ€

While the left continues to preach tolerance and inclusion, more laws keep popping up that seem to embrace the precise opposite: intolerance and exclusion. Many say itโ€™s nothing more than discrimination.

This is of course anti-Constitutional, and critics say it only widens the divide in America today.
