Surgeon Makes Quite The Mistake.
The Hospital is the last place most people want to be. The food is usually too healthy to taste good and aside from the miracle of life it’s not the place anyone wants to end up. It is a place where life in hangs in the balance and that it did recently for a Kenyan patient who went in with head trauma at Kenyatta National Hospital.
The patient somehow was mistakenly identified as another patient who had a blood clot in his brain. The unlucky patient received a serious surgery over a mistake. What’s worse is how far the surgeons got before they realized the mistake. The Brain surgeons were inside the patients head and unable to find a clot, when they thought they better recheck the patient credentials.
The surgeon resealed the patients head and luckily the patient is recovering well. But that’s one heck of an oops. The surgeon and anesthesiologists have been suspended so far.
“Hospital CEO Lily Koros said the hospital “deeply regrets this event and has done all it can to ensure the safety and well-being of the patient in question.”
“We are happy to inform the public that the patient is in recovery and progressing well,” Koros added.”

“The doctors’ union defended staff, saying the hospital was “overwhelmed” by staff shortages and inadequate operating theatre space.
“You find one doctor could be doing 10 to 19 operations [in a day],” Ouma Oluga, chief executive officer of the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists’ Union, told Reuters news agency.
The Doctors claims it is not their fault that they performed the surgery on the wrong person. They feel it is the fault of the person who put the identifying tags on the people.
According to the video, this hospital seems to be having issues as there was a recent rape scandal. The scandal involved the rape of breastfeeding mothers in the early hours of the morning. So you may want to dodge this Kenyan Hospital entirely. Unneeded surgeries and the risk of rape. Sounds like a scary place to be.
