Firefighters Work To Saves Lives At Georgia Apartment Fire.
We should be ever thankful for the men and women that selflessly choose to become first responders. In Decatur, GA a fire wreaked havoc on The Avondale Forest Apartment complex. Luckily firefighters showed up to not only put out the fire but save the many families that live there.
The Video below was captured via a firefighter helmet cam earlier this month. Firefighter Capt. Scott Stroup makes the incredible catch in the video below. The child was dropped from a third-floor balcony into his arms.
“We were catching babies like a football – literally,” fire Capt. Eric Jackson told reporters at the scene. “There were adults that were on the balcony that were dropping their babies right into our arms. We had a couple firefighters catching babies, so it was just really incredible.”
“At least 12 people, four adults and eight children, have sustained injury and have been hospitalized but thankfully, none are considered to be life-threatening. Most are being treated for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is also unknown at this time.”
