FBI Confirms Identity Of Remains Found At North Carolina Church

Identity of Body Found Behind Church Confirmed By FBI

A West Charlotte, NC Church became a crime scene this morning when female remains were found. A young adult native had been missing since the 18th and it was hoped that the remains were not hers. Today the FBI confirmed that the remains belonged to the missing young adult, Ashanti Billie.

Ashanti Billie was last seen leaving her for work in her cream-colored mini-coop. It was not until she missed her shift at Blimpies, where she is an Assistant Manager, and her culinary classes that she was deemed missing.

The last known image of her was taken by the surveillance camera on the military base that she resided on. The image is of her mini-coop leaving the military base.

Her phone was found hours later in a dumpster in a residential area near Norfolk. The Mini-Coop was later found on the 23rd in a peaceful neighborhood. Police are currently investigating both sites.

“We are doing investigative work in the areas around were some of the evidence was found,” said Christina Pullen, a public affairs specialist with the FBI in Norfolk.

Joining the search are her family and friends, “it’s just as parents, we have to do something. We can’t sit at the hotel all day. We can only send out so much on social media. We have to be out here because that’s who we are,” says Brandy Billie.

The reward

The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the location of Ashanti Billie.

Blimpie announced it will match the FBI’s reward, increasing the total reward to $20,000.

“We are very concerned about the disappearance of Ashanti Billie and we are working with the authorities to help find her and bring her home safely,” said Jeff Wallace, vice president of operations for the company. “We are here to help support Ashanti’s family during this difficult time.”
