Oregon and California Legislators Have Put Some Crazy New Gun Laws In Place.
Liberals are at it again and this time they are attacking the second amendment. Oregon legislators have put a new law in place that will put citizen’s gun rights into their local police or family’s hands.
“The law allows police or a member of a someone’s family to file a petition with the court if they believe the person poses an imminent risk to themselves or others.
A judge can then examine the person’s history and issue an Extreme Risk Protection Order which would force the subject to surrender all of their guns.”
Judges will look over the petitioned person’s history as well as the accusation and determine if the person will be allowed to keep their guns. If the judge rules against the gun owner then they will have 24 hours to surrender all of their weapons to the police.
“The subject of the order has 30 days to request a hearing to keep their firearms, which must be held within 21 days.”
You can see how this could be abused if you had a disgruntled family member.
“As of now, only Washington, California, Connecticut and most recently Oregon have ERPO laws (while Indiana and Texas have modified risk warrant statutes).”
This violation of the second amendment wasn’t enough as California had to take it up a notch and is looking to further harass/restrict gun owners. California is now making it so their residents can no longer purchase ammunition online. They will have to go to a licensed dealer in order to buy rounds. This new law also makes it so the vendors will have to get DOJ certificate of eligibility if they sell more than 500 rounds a month. There will be background checks performed upon buying the munitions. So no more ammo bought in California unless in person and with a background check.
There is also a new proposition that is gaining traction in California where vendors will have to record information about who buys rounds and the amount they buy. They will then be required to send reports to the DOJ about the transactions.

So for Californian gun owners, it is definitely time to start looking at more gun friendly states. It’s only a matter of time before they fully disarm all of their residents.
