Community Saddened To Learn Arizona Kindergarten Teacher’s Remains Have Been Found.
Cathryn Gorospe a teacher at Arrowwood School went missing on October sixth. Gorospe was last seen leaving Pheonix after posting bail for Charlie Malzahn. Gorospe was reported missing by her roommate when she didn’t return home for a couple days and had not made accommodations for her dog.
Cathryn was a tour guide at for the Grand Canyon Railroad and loved by the community. Goforth her neighbor had nothing but good things to say about Gorospe.
“If you had a problem, she wanted to help you,” he said. “She was a caregiver.”
Students and the Community have lined the walkway to her home with green illuminated lunch bags and banners. The banners read “I love you” and “We miss you, Cathryn.”
Malzahn who had been previously accused of assaulting a female in her dorm room was arrested October 9th. Charlie had previously served two sentences for theft and aggravated assault. He was found in possession of Cathryn’s credit cards, debit cards, and her car.
An acquaintance of Malzahn who went with him on a drug run claimed that the car had blood stains on the sunroof, center console, and both doors.
Originally, Malzahn complied with Police Officers but during the fingerprinting process, he attempted to escape. Charlie attacked both Officers with his handcuffs leaving a nine-inch laceration on the back of one of the Officers head.

Loved ones held a candlelight vigil for Gorospe Saturday night where they wore green – her favorite color – and shared memories.
“Cathryn’s friends and colleagues at Arrowhead School and throughout DVUSD had hoped and prayed for a different outcome,” the school district said in a statement. “During this difficult time, we feel fortunate to belong to a school and district family where we support and take care of each other.”
